Attendance

A written excuse or a call (925) 687-0202 is required, which includes the specific reason, the date(s), and the signature of parent(s) or guardian when a student is absent for any reason. You can also email filstrupp@mdusd.org with this information. When students return to Sunrise Elementary School, they must bring the absence verification note directly to their teacher. Habitual absence and/or tardies will be classified as truant. Appropriate district office authorities will be notified. The goal, of course, is for every child to be successful and to attend school regularly.
